Things to do with kids in Hoppers Crossing

Wyndham City Council · 3029

Hoppers Crossing is a busy family suburb between Werribee and Tarneit, and it's the place to go in Wyndham for indoor fun. Alongside 34 playgrounds and 45 parks and reserves, it has a cinema, Timezone and a swimming centre.

Landmarks

Pacific Werribee shopping centre is the big landmark, and Village Cinemas and Timezone are both right next to it. The AquaPulse swimming centre is about a kilometre away. Hoppers Crossing Shopping Centre and Hogan's Corner Shopping Centre are smaller local centres. Outdoors, Cambridge Reserve is the largest park at 15 hectares, and Mossfiel Reserve has a district playground and a skate park. The Grange Reserve also has one of the council's larger playgrounds. The Skeleton Creek Trail and the Federation Trail both pass through the suburb, so it's easy to add a ride or scooter trip.

Getting around

Hoppers Crossing Station is on the metro Werribee line, about 700 metres from the suburb centre. Buses 150, 151, 153, 160, 161, 166, 167, 170, 180, 181, 182 and 498 all stop in the suburb. By car, Werribee is about 7 minutes away, Point Cook about 13 and the Melbourne CBD about 28, without traffic.

Best for

Rainy days, with the cinema and Timezone side by side. Teens, since Pacific Werribee is about 2 kilometres from Hoppers Crossing Station. Toddlers, with playgrounds spread right across the suburb. Families on bikes, because two long shared trails cross it.

Nearby suburbs

Werribee is next door and has the river trail, the outdoor pool and the library. Point Cook has the coast, the RAAF Museum and more skate parks. Tarneit and Williams Landing are close by for extra playgrounds and a second train station.
