Landmarks

The Werribee River Trail follows the river through town and links several of the bigger parks. Wyndham Park is about 600 metres from the station and has a playground and a skate park. Chirnside Park and Galvin Park both have larger district playgrounds, and Heathdale Glen Orden Wetlands Reserve, at 41 hectares, has two district playgrounds and a pump track. In summer, Werribee Outdoor Pool and the water play at Bloom Street Park are the main places to cool off. For wet days there's the Werribee branch of Wyndham Library Service, Wyndham Art Gallery and the B-24 Liberator Museum. Werribee Village Shopping Centre, Harpley Town Centre and the Olde Dairy Plaza cover food and supplies.

Getting around

Werribee Station is on the metro Werribee line. Buses 153, 161, 166, 170, 180, 181, 182, 190, 191, 192, 194, 439, 441, 443 and 498 run through the suburb, and SkyBus stops here on the Avalon Airport to Melbourne City run. By car, Hoppers Crossing is about 7 minutes away, Point Cook about 14, the Melbourne CBD about 31 and Geelong about 40, without traffic.

Toddlers and younger kids, with a playground in almost every pocket of the suburb. Rainy days, thanks to the library, gallery and museum. Free days out along the river trail. Older kids and teens who ride, with a skate park at Wyndham Park and the pump track at Heathdale Glen Orden.
